UNACOMA, the Italian Farm Machinery Manufacturers Association represents, in Italy and abroad, Italian makers of tractors and agricultural and gardening machinery (Comagarden), components (Comacomp) and earth-moving machinery (Comamoter).
The association, established in 1945 and member of Confindustria, aims to incentivize the mechanization of agricultural activities, to promote the development and technological renewal of agricultural machines in Italy and abroad and to provide its associates with targeted support, assistance and innovative services. Italian agricultural mechanization industry, represented at 80% by UNACOMA’s associates, ranks first in the world considering product range and specific applications.
The industry is strongly export oriented: out of a turnover of 6.7 billion euros, 60% comes from exports. With 545,109 tractors sold between April 2010 and March 2011 and an almost incalculable turnover for different types of machines and equipment, India confirms itself as one of the most attractive markets for the Italian manufacturers.
Several agreements signed between Italian companies and Indian counterparts show how the versatility of Italian products meets the local requirements.
