ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, gathers Italian textile machinery companies producing more than 80% of the Italian textile machinery production (worth 2.6 billion euros), 80% of which exported in about one hundred thirty countries. Asia absorbs quite 50% of total export, followed by Europe (with a share of 31%).
Italy is a leading producer of textile machinery in the world and the technological level of its production is considered of the highest standard by the competitors themselves. Italian textile machinery manufacturers meet the full spectrum of industry needs (spinning, weaving, knitting, fi nishing and laundry machines). It’s not just the innovative high technology behind the machinery that makes the end product better, it’s the structure of the machine manufacturers. All ACIMIT’s members are companies structured in order to maximize their flexibility and to be responsive to clients’ need, with highly specialized products. Creativity, Sustainable Technology, Reliability and Quality are the main features of textile machinery made inItaly. Indian textile industry is one of the leading producer and exporter of textile products and therefore one of the most important markets for textile machinery.
The Country is in third position in the ranking of major Italian textile machinery importers. In 2010 the Italian sales in Indian market totalled a value of 112 million euros. During the period January-October 2011 Italian exports amounted to 110 million euros, (+22% on the previous period). Most of the requests come from the spinning sector (40%), followed by the fi nishing one (24%).
